About Us

Goodwill of Central and Coastal Virginia is part of a network of 165 community-based, autonomous member organizations in the United States, Canada, and 13 other countries that serve people with obstacles to employment through education, training and job placement services.

As a nonprofit organization, we help people become independent, tax-paying members of their communities, by giving them opportunities to work, earn income and enjoy a sense of pride and self-esteem. Our work and mission are focused on long-term employment solutions for persons with disabilities and individuals with social and economic disadvantages.

With nearly a century as a leading workforce development service provider, we’ve come to believe that people want to work, regardless of their circumstances.

Whether they lack of education or skills, have language barriers, physical or intellectual disabilities, or are facing major life transitions, Goodwill is here to help.

Shoppers, donors, partners and employers fuel our mission so that we can offer a wide variety of workforce training services at no charge to job seekers.

Goodwill’s community employment centers enrolled more than 8,700 individuals last year. Today, many are on the path to success, work for more than 1,000 employers in a wide variety of jobs.
