Full-Time, Salary Commensurate With Experience ($60k-$75k)
The Director of Advancement is primarily responsible for ensuring James House reaches its funding targets. Responsibilities include:
● Develop and execute the James House annual advancement plan
● Secure financial support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and local, state and federal government
● Write, submit, and monitor grant proposals and reports
● In conjunction with the CEO develop and maintain ongoing relationships with donors
● In conjunction with the CEO, maintain community relations and networking (example: BNI, Chambers of Commerce)
● Manage fundraising campaigns
● Manage the implementation of Little Green Light and oversee staff responsible for data entry and gift processing
● In conjunction with the Advancement Associate, create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed
● Provide input for social media accounts and website
● Coordinate production and mailing of appeal letters
● In conjunction with team members, create flyers, handbills, billboards, and other materials
● Exhibit congruence between the mission and values of James House and interactions with the community/clients
● Thoroughly understand and abide by James House’s policies and correctly implement all procedures
● Other duties as assigned
Requirements
● Knowledge of the Tri-Cities and surrounding counties, reliable transportation, a valid VA state driver’s license, and in-force automobile insurance
● Four or more years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, including successful grant applications preferred, but willing to train a high energy, outgoing individual with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
● Proficiency in Little Green Light or similar CRM, Microsoft products, and Canva
● Database management experience
● Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
● Ability to work independently with little supervision
● Successful background check
