Part-time Frame Shop Assistant

**Job Title:** Award and Frame Shop Assistant  

**Job Summary:**  
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Award and Frame Shop Assistant to support our team in producing high-quality awards, plaques, custom frames, and related products. This position involves assisting with the assembly and production of framed items, handling customer orders, preparing custom designs, and ensuring high-quality standards are met. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be able to work independently and in a team, and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Assist in creating, assembling, and finishing awards, plaques, and custom framing projects.
- Handle customer orders and inquiries, providing guidance on options for awards and framing.
- Operate equipment such as engravers, mat cutters, and other tools for custom design and production.
- Prepare and inspect materials for assembly, including frames, mats, glass, and award components.
- Perform quality checks to ensure all items meet shop standards and customer expectations.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure inventory is stocked and orderly.
- Package and prepare finished items for pickup or delivery.
- Support front desk activities as needed, including assisting customers with selections, pricing, and order details.

**Qualifications:**

- Prior experience in a similar role, or with custom framing, engraving, or art/craft work, is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle delicate materials carefully.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn new tools and techniques.
- Physical ability to lift and handle framing materials and stand for extended periods.

**Preferred Skills:**

- Experience with engraving software or design programs.
- Knowledge of framing techniques, including mat cutting, glass cutting, and assembly.
- Familiarity with award design options, such as trophies, plaques, medals, and custom awards.

**Work Environment:**  
This role involves working in a shop environment with various hand tools, machinery, and delicate materials. Safety protocols must be followed to ensure a safe work environment.
