ARGS Spring Arts Gala Spotlights Emerging Creative Talent at PAAL

PETERSBURG, VA May – The Petersburg Area Art League (PAAL) proudly presents the ARGS Spring Arts Gala, an annual showcase celebrating the bold vision and extraordinary skill of visual arts students from The Appomattox Regional Governor’s School (ARGS). The exhibition opens with a public reception on Friday, May 9th, from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM, and will remain on view through June 7th.

This highly anticipated exhibit features an exciting mix of 2D, 3D, and multimedia works, including graphite drawings, photography, abstract compositions, and mixed-media installations. Both senior and underclassmen students are represented, offering a glimpse into the future of the regional arts scene.

    “Never underestimate the magnitude of new talent,” the exhibition’s theme boldly declares—and the walls at PAAL prove it. Visitors will encounter deeply personal narratives, bold uses of space and texture, and thought-provoking perspectives that reflect the voices of a new generation of artists."

In the lead-up to opening night, students and faculty have been hands-on in the gallery, meticulously hanging and arranging their works—a process that reinforces ARGS’s commitment to artistic excellence and real-world creative experiences.
